Please describe what happened. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and required surgery. The procedure went well and the doctors and nurses, for the most part, were skilled and attentive. However, without consideration for any side effects, and without my understanding, I was given eleven MRI with contrast scans over a short period of time. Since then, I have discovered that the contrast typically used causes damage to the kidneys. Now I live with stage 4 kidney disease and worry each day that my GFR will decline, leaving me with only the hope of finding a kidney donor or a lifetime of dialysis.
