Lori Nerbonne
Lori Nerbonne is a Registered Nurse & co-founder of New England Patient Voices (formerly New Hampshire Patient Voices). She was an OB-GYN nurse and perinatal educator for 15 years before the loss of her mother in 2004 from a series of hospital-acquired complications and a medication adverse event that resulted in her death. Since that time, Lori’s passion and work has been as a patient safety advocate.
Lori has written proposals & coordinated New Hampshire citizens’ personal testimony for legislation, resulting in three patient safety laws being passed. She has served on The NH Infection Prevention Work Group and has been a member of several regional & national level committees, bringing the patient voice to healthcare & patient safety discussions. Most recently, she worked as a Nurse Patient Advocate Specialist for two acute care hospitals in Massachusetts & was a Quality Improvement Coordinator and Patient & Family Engagement liaison for the New England Quality Improvement Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO).
She is currently leading an effort to draw attention to and work collaboratively with public health leaders on Death Certificate Reform.
