Please describe what happened. John went into the Hospital for a minor ankle fracture. He was there for rehab for 12 days and then discharged. His second morning home, he was feverish and too weak to sit up in bed. He was readmitted and diagnosed with MRSA pneumonia. He never walked again. He became bed bound, emaciated and isolated. He endured sepsis, thrush, rashes, and a pressure ulcer. He spent 21 more days in the hospital and several weeks in a nursing home on isolation the entire time. The antibiotics also caused him great hearing loss so he was further isolated because of that. He was the third community elder to contract MRSA in that hospital in one month and all three of them died as a result.
